Looking forward to going out to the Pine bush.

My pants are drying right now, I sprayed them with permithryn. Hope it helps.

Had a small 8pt @ about 40yds. this morning...a buck I have several pix of. Had a deer blow out from under stand when I approached in the dark too.

Hammerin' snow here now...probably wont go tonight, but I'll be out in the am...can't wait!

Made the mistake of hunting Plattekill this morning. A normal 1 1/2 drive turned into 3 but Noah and I made it safely home. I did enjoy my time with him in the woods even though we were in blinding snow for the better part of the afternoon.

Plattekill as in 10 minutes from my house Plattekill?

Glad you're home safe, still hunting with Shawn tomorrow?

Yes that's the same Plattekill, just outside Modena.

Saw 2 turkeys during the Blizzard but a tad too far out (50 yards).  otherwise just a red squirrel kept me company for 4 hours.

It was kinda nice during it all and very pretty but I am happy to be home now in the heat.

I will head out tomorrow morning but will sit on the ground near a golf course and some scrapes I found last week. Figure Mr. Buck may be by to freshen them up.

Yeah man, Cuz has a business associate down there that doesnt hunt so I figured we'd get a look at his swamp. Had to pick some things up at my aunts house in Nyack and squeezed a quick scouting/hunting/hiking foray in.Saw some nice rubs and hope to get a better look at the place this spring. Shawn teased me with a text of what he was seeing this morning, said they were moving like crazy.

Havent seen a deer in 2 weeks seriously. Losing hope fast. Weve had 3 kiyote sightings so far and heard 2 packs last night, one behind my house and one across the road. Ive only found 3 scrapes so far and thats rare for my area, ususally the little bucks are tearing it up. Maybe this snow will help I really hope so I need some venison!

Paid some dues tonight.  In the first image, if you look close (red circle) you will see my shooting tab.  Bobbled it when untying my bow & quiver from the haul line.  Luckily I keep a spare in my jacket.

Then the snow started in earnest.  Even knowing where the darned tab was it took me a few minutes to find it later after sunset.  Brrrrrr.  Saw a roundhead doe/button that "klacked" in the rocks of a stream 100 yards off and I was set and ready . . . for a non-event.  Let it pass and nothing else was moving.

Been kind of slow by me here in Sullivan County regarding good bucks.
Hav'nt seen a descent buck yet.
Earlier in the day on Friday, watching this young doe come and go. I was tucked away in an old apple tree.

I was hoping for her dad/grandpa to come by.
He never showed.
I waited as long as I could as the day was running out of light.

I drew a doe permit this year so I decided to take her. She's small but will provide some great meals at camp......Philip

how is it that a guy can shoot clean over the back of a small doe not 3 yrds from his stand and then a couple days later drill a small possum out of his stand at 22 yrds.  :knothead:
