Charlie - Thanks for sharing your story. The lessons learned are good for all even though they are hard. Especially the effort you put forth looking. Very commendable.

Had a similar experience a couple years ago that didn't end badly but the anxiety of realizing that I had wounded one and not having a clean kill was very troubling. I'm sure it is for you as well.

Thought about asking if you needed help looking last night but I think you are pretty far away for a day trip.

Blessings....

Finally got on the board.  Only buck that presented a shot.  23 yards.  Deer was trotting and ended up hitting it farther back than I hoped.  Learned a few lessons but got the deer.  It only went 80 yards and died quickly.       It is my first deer taken with traditional archery equipment

Unfortunately, the only ones I know about are a local group of volunteers.

Ron, where the heck are you hunting? I can understand that kind of luck up north but not in the southern zone. You are welcome to come to my neck of the woods if you want to see deer. May not be close enough for a shot, but at least you should see a live deer.

I was out your way crotch horn and didn't see anything out there either. Around my area [4a] the deer density is the same as the northern zone, a good friend has a camp in Norway and he isn't seeing anything either, so it's not just me. I guess I have to go back to Illinois.....at least I saw deer and some good ones at that!
