Old but still hunting ,bow picture thread( Non glam bows)
« on: November 22, 2011, 04:29:00 PM »
Well after looking at thread upon thread of new custom bow pics. I thought what about us guys who have older, daily hunting, plain jane, beat up bows that are tried and true in the field. So lets have some pics of those that still stand the test of time. And its not about ugly bows just old bows still hunting.

This is a pic of a Hill Tembo that I got from a great man, my daily hunter. It has ding's and rubs and is as faithfull as can be.At my draw its 70#@30" and full of strength and desire. Thanks Tim

A doe (so far) this year with my 1966 Browning Explorer.  A bit of tape camo but she's not too bad underneath.

And have already started practicing and assembling arrows for next year's hunting bow - a 1974 Browning Cobra II.

I love the old girls.  The sadder but wiser bows for me.

This is My "OLD" D-bow! I made this selfbow in the early 80's. Its around 25 years old or more. I killed my first "FLINT" primitive arrow deer with it. I was just a small button buck..but it was one of my top trophy's I ever killed! Too go out and cut a stave and stick and make it all..and then kill a deer... is something you can only feel with doing it! I love this little bow!

If you want to look at some beautiful vintage bows, go to the "Trad History/Collection Forum and look at the "are you hunting vintage this year thread" one of the best threads on TG.
