When its cold, no boot alone does it for me. I gotta have the chemical heat packs added. Sitting for 6 hours immoble in a tree in anything under 20 degrees is more than my toes can bear. The heat packs make things bearable.
If moving, no problems.

I have both the Sorrels and Mickey Mouse boots. I can't wear the MM boots out however the Sorrels are a little warmer when doing all day sits up here. Problem I have with the Sorrels is on my current pair the rubber started cracking all over after a couple of years and now they are no longer waterproof in the snow.

I always wear a pair of liner socks then wool. You need to keep your body's core temp up also to keep you feet warm.

I have a pair of Cabelas Iron Ridge boots(only boots in a size 16 for me) and with polpro sock liners and wool socks my feet are warm as all can be. Great prices on them as well Their is a science to keeping your feet warm Silk or poly and then wool. And I am starting to think the gortex boots keep moisture in as well as keep water out. I dont believe you can repel water on one side of a material and let it through on the other.JMHO

I got some arctic Muck boots this year, and hunted with them in below zero weather and had toasty feet. Last year, I hunted in some heavy duty Schnees and got frostbitten toes. I vote for the Muck boots.

I will say the new chemical warmers really help and even in sub zero temps. you can wear rubber boots and get away with it, stick a set on the bottom of toes and a set on top of toe's and a full length set along the bottom of the socks as well. One big thing is too make sure you keep room in the boot, circulation of air keeps your feet warm as compared to 3 sets of socks and a tight fit. I have had this problem for 30 plus years and with my Sorrels and the chem packs I can keep my feet warm on all day sits in sub-zero temps as we get now and than in the late season. I should mention an unscented anti-perspirant(sp?) not deodorant really helps as well, no sweat feet stay warmer! Shawn

I have found that muck boots with stick on (toasty toes) chemical warmers keep my feet warm enough for most sits. I have crazy insulated pack boots that keep my feet very warm but I just cannot walk in them at all.

My feet always get cold. I just bought a pair of 1200 gram DANNER PRONGHORNS. I really like them. they kept my feet warm while bear hunting here in PA all week

I've had just about every boot out there.
Rocky Bearclaws are me favorites for all around. When the Northwoods temps in Wisconsin drop below 10, I always use my Arctic Shield boot covers. They really keep the heat in and are not bulky in a treestand!

I'm with Rick but I use anti-perspirant only

I am fortunate to own a pair of Schnee PAC boots with liners

I bought them large- use a thin liner sock and one generous wool sock

If its really cold I put one of those chemical toe warmer packets outside the liner over my toes and under the wool sock

Keeps me toasty

Schnees insulated work best for me. Some days my feet are too warm! That would be because I misjudged the temp or it moderated throughout the day though.
Top quality product, costly but not so bad when looked at over the long term.

I have two pair of Schnee boots the uninsulated guide boot and insulated outfitter 2 and they are well worth the extra money. Very comfortable and the main thing is when they wear out you can send them back to Schnee and have new soles put on.

Or a second set of removable liners or a boot dryer etc.

Your feet are gonna produce moisture no matter what, once the insulation is damp your feet will freeze doesnt matter what the boot is rated to.

You have to get them dry before the next outing. Or wear mickey mouse boots.

If you are someone who's feet sweat a lot, make a point of changing into dry socks frequently. It will make a huge difference, with any kind of boot. And if you're out for a long period of time, put your damp socks over your shoulders, in between your layers, and your body heat will dry them out. Switch back and forth. It works.
