bearpaw feathers? Anyone like em?
« on: December 01, 2011, 10:04:00 PM »
Anyone try the bearpaw feathers sold by K King?

Just wondering if they're any good?

Thanks

I buy the full length for chopping. So far I have been getting almost 3 feathers per full length feather. This is based on my chopping 3" feathers. The base of the feathers are consistent and just right for chopping. I have tried other feathers and found them more difficult to get a clean chop on. The Bearpaws are great. I got mine from Kustom King Archery.

I have both Bearpaw and Trueflight. I prefer Trueflight but Bearpaws are good. I just think Trueflights are just a touch better. I have found some of the grinds to be thicker on some feathers with the Bearpaws. I think Trueflight are a bit more consistent. That being said, I WILL buy Bearpaw, and have, when I need to save a few bucks.

Fletching some right now.  Seem to be a quality feather.  I think I like the "barrs" on the Trueflights a little better...

No complaints though. I'm sure I'll use 'em again.

The trueflights feather are little better in quality, the huge difference between this brands is the tall, for 5" lenght feather the trueflight is 1/8 inch less tall than the bearpaw, that's mean better clearance if you have any problem on this side.

I tried em. There are thinner than trueflights but for the price they are great. at first glacne there isnt a noticable difference. you gotta look for it. but like I said....for the price, there are great.
