David and I have been corresponding through his ordeal. The horrors he has been through with this disease are unimaginable and spanned the last 5 or 6 years. His incredible strength of character has carried him far longer than the doctors could have hoped.
A fine man with a wonderful wife and daughter and one of, if not the best selfbow makers I have ever met. I hope to someday reach his level of expertise with my selfbow tillering, his ability was the best of the best.
One time I was admiring the leather on his bow grips. A few days later I got a box in the mail filled with this fine leather, a year later another box from him with more leather. Every bow I have made in the last ten years has David's leather on the handle. I have enough leather left for all my future bows thanks to David's generosity.
I will miss his friendship greatly.
