I am planning to get out on Monday after the Christmas madness stops. Things have been crazy here for weeks. Looking forward to the quiet peaceful solitude of the woods.

Oh yea I also need a couple new flu-flus so I have to make them today while the kid is at school.

A pretty good afternoon of shooting, circa 1994.

Made up some new flu flu's and went for a little while this evening. Saw plenty of squirrels but they just did not come by where I was sitting. Leaf litter too crunchy to go to them. Only shot I had, the squirrel caught me day dreamin'and I missed my chance. Dang it!

Well today I made up a few steel blunts with the "half" penny trick. Tried them out on some local flora and realized the pennies were too soft....they sheared off. Back to steel blunts and old broadheads

TxAg,

Try using something like banding or in this case, a piece of old bandsaw blade. I cut the bandsaw blade with a pair of bulldog snips. I drilled through the field tip and the blade with a 3/16" drill and inserted a small section of 3/16" welding rod slightly longer than needed. I peened it down tight. These fly great but you will need a GOOD drill bit to drill the blade.

My new arras, flu flu's and nanna's

Duncan,

The head looks cool. I like those arrows too. I found a flu flu I had made years ago with 6 feathers on a Easton 2016 shaft. I also found an old arrow from my wheel bow days and removed the insert and cut it into 2 inch lenghts. I then glued a 2 inch piece of the old wheel bow arrow onto the end of my 2016 for footing. I then screwed on one of the "Mace" small game heads Jerry Jeffer showed me how to make and in addition put a flat washer on for some extra weight. Total arrow weight is now 580-590 grains. That should leave a mark when it hits.
