BROADHEADS??

3 blade woodsman elite - last week I shot clean through a cow elk at about 30 yards, centered a rib on exit side, 60 lb longbow. Most easy head to sharpen I have ever used, sticky sharp.

When in doubt always go with the Zwickey, either the Eskimo or the Delta. If you have the power the Delta can leave abetter blood trail, if you are shooting a lighter bow or lighter arrows the Eskimo tends to fly better. We have never lost a deer shot with either one, my son swears by the Delta for its short and heavier blood trails. I prefer that those that I hunt with that I  make arrows for, and sharpen their broadheads for them all use Eskimos.

Thanks for the info guys, I am going to purchase one pack each of the Magnus stingers, Stos and I think zwickey eskimos. Now I just have to decide which weight to buy!!! I am going to start practicing my stalking skills this winter after deer season is over, work on taking some squirrels and bunnies!

Any of those three will work fine.Good flight and scary sharp are more important than brand name.

Do they make stingers that glue on? Thinking of using bamboo shafts, if not I could try to tap the end of the arrow n fit an Easton HIT insert in there possibly, anybody done this before?

Keep them sharp and they are all good. I shoot the 150gr 2 blade stingers.

I admittedly have a broad head fetish. As a result I  have killed game with a number of different heads over the years. My favorites are the Zwickey Eskimos  and Woodsman Elites because both fly well and are easy to sharpen. I believe the VPA's are essentially identical to the Woodsman heads. The Stingers performed great for me as well... I think I simply prefer the Eskimos because they are green. Call me shallow.

I prefer the Woodsman Elite 3 Blade but for a 2 Blade glue on the STOS is a great choice, it's a little longer than the others you mentioned from what I remember.

I've been shooting 150gr 4-blade Stingers for the past couple of years and really like them.  

I like the small bleeders in the 4-blades.  Better blood trails and not much effect on penetration.  In fact, my little girl is shooting 85gr 4-blade stingers through deer with 35 pounds and 21" draw.

I shot Zwickey Delta's this year - killed a nice 140" 8 point (full penetration, didn't completely pass through though)


I think I prefer the 225 gr single bevel Steel Force (I've killed 2 deer with them, both complete pass through)

That said, my arrows were heavier with the Steel Force as well. Zwickey's are much cheaper, very tough, not terribly bad to sharpen with a KME
