US made wool camo crushers.. Found Them...Here Ya Go
« on: December 14, 2011, 08:15:00 PM »
While in Portand OR. today researching fishing guides for the guys wishing to fish Sturgeon and Spring Chinook while at the up-coming PBS Banquet to be held in March in Portland Or. I came accross Wool Camo crushers made in the USA.

They are made by Blacks Creek and actually much nicer than my old one, as they have a interior head band [ mine does not].

I spoke to the Store Manager and was told they would sale and ship by mail for the origional cost of $56.00 + shipping [ there is no sales tax in Oregon].

I'm only bringing this to your attention as it seems there has been alot of interest in them lately here on the POW WOW.

I hope this helps in your search, their website is:
ww.fishermans-marine.com
and the phone # of the store I was in is:

Gene, I run my sled in those waters for springers that time of year.   Sturgeon is usually a lot better at the coast in March.   I could put a couple of guys in the boat.

I had the same experience as Mudd.

Guys It looks very much like mine, shape and size wise [as far as the brim size and overall shape], and the camo pattern is very similar.  However, it has a very nice [I think leather] interior head band that I'm sure will keep it in place better on your "noggin" than mine, which has no inside head band..

Here's a picture of mine.. I'm sorry Fishermans Marine has no pictures available on their web site...

Perhaps you can google "Blacks Creek" ?

I'll be in the Portland OR. shopping with the holidays coming, and will stop and try and take a picture of one for you.  In the mein time....this is close [but old]  minus the nice head band.

Richard and Clay.. I just sent you two a PM about the up-coming banquet in case your interested in checking it out...

That goes for others here, who may be in the Portland OR area about the 3rd weekend in March... If you need or would like a bit of info about it send me a PM....

BTW... Gene, Barry, and some other notable guys will be in attendance and in some cases as "Speakers".  You can also gain a lot of info by checking out probowsociety.net  the PBS web Site.

The Banquet will not be back on the West Coast for at leat another 8 years and even then probably not in Portland...Come join in!

Hey, Gene-

There is a typo in your last post with the PBS website.   It is:  www.probowsociety.net  .

Although we are brothers, in a sense, it isn't "bro"bow!

Thought you might want to make a quick edit...

enter: black creek wool hat and follow the shoebug link. Plenty of choices. Too much brim for my taste though.
