Good maintenance wax for Dyneema type strings.
« on: December 15, 2011, 11:27:00 AM »
Hey guys.

I'm looking for a good maintenance wax to use on my FF (dyneema) type strings.

The stuff I have is just to hard.
I soften it up a bit and apply it, but it just "explodes" off within a few shots.

I'm not looking for string making wax.

Just the stuff to smear on now and then.
Not too tacky...not too hard..
I think you know what I mean..

Thanks

BCY, Saunders, Bohnning, etc. all offer good quality string maintenence waxes designed for synthetic fibers, and they are cheap.  You can generally find them in any archery store or catalog.

The "trick" is remembering to use them on a regular basis....

What makes it different from the rest is that it is a liquid and gets deep into the yarn fibers..no rubbing, no heating,no burnishing, no nothing . Just apply and let dry.

Not cheap but lasts a good while.

I've been happy with pure bees wax. It takes a little elbow grease to get it worked in well but I think it holds up longer than most other waxes.

Good luck.
