I am of the opinion that you should shoot the first thing that gives you a decent shot.  Get some experience, whatever that may entail.

I have been waiting for a nice buck for 20 years.  I have passed hundreds of deer. Now that I just want "any" deer, I have been kicking myself for a few years.

I would take he first good shot at any legal animal.

Good luck and tell us what you ended up deciding.
