2016`s Savannah etc...
« on: December 16, 2011, 07:35:00 PM »
Ok,so some of you know I was having trouble with my 2016`s flying lousy out of my 45lb Savannah. Today, I made an interesting discovery.. I decided to try shooting 3 fingers under, instead of split. I was amazed to find out, that not only did the rear of the arrows stop whipping from left to right, but I shoot the bow 10 times more accurate with this method.
Originally, I thought I made a realllly bad choice going with 2016`s,but now I can`t help but think my release when shooting 2 above and one under just isn`t good, and is more the problem than the arrows. They still don`t fly as good as the 1916`s I shot through the bow a few days ago,,but it`s close. I will probably just get some 1916`s anyway,..a bit more speedy and they just fly like darts !
  Anyway,,any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't normally shoot aluminum, as I don't like the sound it makes, and my Savannah is 55 @ 28, so this may not apply.  This bow shoots 2016 arrows really well, so I should think perhaps 2016 in a 45 # might be a bit stiff. If you do get a chance to pick up a few 1916, I would give them a try.

How long are the 2016's?  Keeping them at about 29 1/2 inches should work really well for your bow.

They are 29"..but they do not fly the way a 1916,or even an 1816 does..both of the afore mentioned fly like super fast darts.

Rich,

I cannot tell you much about aluminum arrows but will tell you,

this is a sport of doing what works best.

If 3 under works better for you do it.

I have a buddy who switched and has become a better shot than me, I think I will have to cut one of his fingers off now.   :readit:
Relax,
