Goldtip Nock failure response
« on: December 17, 2011, 12:43:00 PM »
Just an FYI and it may already be on here. I too had nock failure and contacted goldtip and explained the problem. They told me they had a material issue and had a bunch of bad knocks out there. They also told me the problem has been addressed and to let them know how many nocks I needed. I informed them I had 2 dozen arrows and a week later 3 dozen new nocks showed up in the mail. Great response .........  I haven't shot the new nocks yet, but I'm hopeful.

Yeah, I've had a lot of them pop and break when I hit something hard.  I'm just gonna shoot em up and get replacements.  I like GoldTips and have used them a long time.  Everyone is allowed a bad day every once in a while.

Speaks well of company to admit a problem and correct it.

I'd say that speaks very well for the company. I trashed a nice bow when one of my Gold Tip nocks broke, but my guess is that it was a nock that I opened up with a file to fit the serving. So I can't really blame the nock. Wish I could, as it was a nice bow.

You have to love it when a company does the right thing.  It sounds like Gold Tip users have a great supplier who deserves loyalty and more of their business.

I talked with the guys at GT when this problem first started to get on the forums.  I had some nocks break on me as well.  Apparently, their nock supplier had neglected to put one of the ingredients in the mix when they were mixing the plastic, making them brittle.  Bummer to not be directly responsible for a problem that they are left holding the bag on.

How do you know if you have the weak nocks versus the new nocks?

I read about the GT nock problems several months ago, and sent all my GT nocks back to them. Got em' back in about 2 weeks.  I never had any real problems, just a few broke (clear green) over the last couple years, but they were willing to replace them anyways.  Great company and excellent customer service, even got a call from one of their reps making sure I was satisfied.  Thanks Gold Tip!  :clapper:

Well these new Nocks are 100% improvement. I've been stump shooting over the holidays and have hit real solid stumps pulling out my inserts and not one Nock failure.  Thumbs up to Gold Tip for great service and now great Nocks.
