Most unique archery related man cave decoration
« on: December 20, 2011, 05:44:00 PM »
Gents,
Whether you have a man cave all to yourself, or a space you share with the family, we all tend to pick up some things to decorate our spaces. Bow racks, lamps, artwork, unique quivers, whatever...What cool and unique trad archery related items have you picked up and have on display?
Post some pics if you can. I have a floor lamp with a magazine rack base, as well as a table lamp, that were put together from Bear bows. The table lamp is made from risers, and the floor lamp is made from a couple of full bows for the lamp and risers for the magazine rack. They were made by Flloyd Eccleston. I'll post pics later if I can.
Show us what you got!

Is Flloyd Eccleston the guy that used to have a shop in Mt Pleasant?

Here is a bow rack I made. My wife keeps saying I need to stain the center dark. Maybe after deer season.

Just a spot where I hang my stuff in my little archey/hunting work area. When I mounted these bucks i used a part of the ones hide to make my back quiver, I thought that was pretty unique.

Not sure how old this quiver and arrows are, was an fleabay find a few years back. The arrows are Bear and they all have the Bear Razorheads on them. The Michigan Archery Hunting License is from 1964.

Yup, Flloyd had a shop in Mt. Pleasant. ChippewanArchery. He was a good dealer of Bear archery, and a great friend of Fred's as well. Mr. Eccleston is also know for having had one of the most complete and inclusive broadhead collections ever. I believe that Wade Phillips owns that collection now.
Nice pics guys keep em coming.

I have a very unique lamp and rocking chair made by a friend, but haven't quite figured out how to post pics here. If someone here would post them, I will e-mail the pics to them.
Thanks

Nice photo Mudd.  Every archer should have one in their man-cave.

Floyd was a good friend of my dads.  He gave my dad a ink pen holder made out of a piece of a burch limb with an MBH sticker in the middle and a hole on the side for  the ink pen.

I remember dad giving Floyd one of John Hauch experimental tube heads for Floyds collection which I believe belongs to Mr Phillips. I still have two of those heads.

Brian, that deer hide quiver is SWEET! How did you tan it? and do you carry broadheads in it? If so how did you design the inside bottom?

Im a taxidermist part time so I had it done at a tannery for one of my mounts. I do not carry broadheads in it yet but Im going to reinforce the inside of the bottom with tooling leather and then some quiver like foam. Thanks
