bow only here. no offense intended, but it's actually odd to me that people hunt part of the year with a bow and part of the year with a gun (at least in texas). I realize the regs might dictate otherwise in some states.

I hunt nearly 100% with a Bow, every once in a while more like once every 2-3 years I'll get the itch to take out my Hawken for a day.

To me hunting with a bow is the best challenge & satisfaction a hunter could want.
Challenge of being skilful & stealthy enough to become part of your surroundings & be close to the animal you are going after.
Satisfaction of being able to achieve the shot at those close distances using primitive equipment couldn't get any better.

This year was the first time in 10 years that I hunted with a rifle. It was also the first time in 10 years I hunted somewhere other than public land. I was invited to hunt a private farm with family members during WV rifle season. I harvested a deer but it did not do much for me.

I do a lot of plinking, target shooting and handloading, but In the field, I will take a stick and string over a rifle any day.

I only own a handgun that I keep for self protection. Never hunted with anything but a bow since 1955.

I've been bow only for I believe 22 years now.  I did kill a doe about 10 years ago w/ a pistol on a bet once, but that's the only time I've picked up a firearm to hunt with since making the decision.  Trad only for about 8 years or so.

I've been recurve only for 26 years.  I've never owned or shot a compound.

I have hunted with a 50 cal. Hawken cap/ball and killed  a deer at 150 Yards back a bunch of years ago. Didn't mean much so now it's bow only.
I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Bow only here.  Can't shoot a gun worth a darn and don't trust too many folks, so the emptier the woods the better.

I have a bunch of guns that reside in their cases, never seeing the light of day. I think the last animal I shot with a gun was a deer with a 30 30 in the early 90s. It's bows or nothing for me.

I do love to eat squirrel that has been shot in the head, so to that end I use scoped .22s.

I had a bow-only (big game)period from about 1984-1995. I do enjoy making a racket from time to time these days.

90% of my hunting is with a bow but, I still like to hunt waterfowl and crows with a shotgun. In NJ you can't take a bear with archery tackle ..YET  So I take them with a muzzleloader.
