I designed the Phoenix for just this reason. With a single bevel the head has a sharper ground angle than a conventional three blade head. Combine that with the awesome quality of construction you get from Jeff at VPA and you might have a head that will work you. Easy to shapen, tough and flies great.

My current flavor is a 200gr. VPA terminator. Easiest head to touch up of any I've ever had. Time will tell if it stays at the top of the list?

I prefer the now "out of production" VPA 250 gn x 1 1/4"dia. screw-in 3 blade Terminators on my carbons... [they are now 1 1/8" dia] Luckily I secured about 2 dozen while they were last available.   :goldtooth:

For woodies it's 160gn S/B Grizleys.

Gene,
We still make the 1-1/4" 200gr glue-on and 250gr screw-in. Just in limited runs.

I like Snuffers to-date but hear that there are some even better heads available now...like the Woodsman I guess....dunno....have not taken a deer yet with my Snuffers so I really can't say how I feel about them - yet!

My favorite is called a Butterfield Brute, and of course, they aren't made any longer.  Wouldn't mind getting another dozen for future hunts.

VPA's/Woodsman Elites when I use a 3 blade, and STOS for when I use a 2 blade.

Lot's of good ones out there, just a matter of personal choice.

Treeshark for me, big holes and great penetration.

Just ask the guy from Georgia who has killed 10 deer this year using one.

magnus and black diamonds sharpened via KME system...
i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...

i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...

does that mean i'm up-to-date?
