Feather Weight

I know some of you guys must have weighed feathers before..so I ask... how many grains does a trio of 4" feathers weigh?

10 grains sounds pretty close.  Three of my five-inch shield cuts weight 15 grains.

I will weigh one later and post the weight, but I think a 4" feather will weigh only about 3-4 gr. I remember weighing shafts with and without 3 5" feathers, as I recall the feathers added only about 12-14 gr.

Tell us the shape and I'll go weigh some. That and quill thickness will determine weight also if it's a primary or secondary feather. Not by much though.

5"  trueflight shield cut weighs 3 grns. -barred and solid are the same. thats by my scale.

Mine weigh 12 grains in a shield cut.
