three under tabs
« on: July 18, 2007, 11:51:00 AM »
I switched to three under about two years ago and saw an immediate improvement in my shooting.  Up to this point I've been using a glove and its been okay, but when I shot split fingure I really liked using a tab.  What do you folks think of the three under tabs on the market?  Who's used em?  Who likes em?  Do they offer the same freedom of split finger tabs?  I always liked being able to flip a split finger tab back out of the way when I needed to do something else with my fingers.  Can I do this with three under tabs?  Thanks.

I shoot 3 under yet still shot with a split finger tab and it causes no problems. My point is that you don't have to use a tab specifically designed for 3 under if you prefer your split finger tab. Good luck.

Black Widow Bows, is a sponsor here...look/click on up above.

They market a very nice tab for three under.

You can use a "can't pinch" tab.....just take the insert out.

It's always worked good for me

Woodduck is correct, Widows 3 under are very nice and I believe will be an improvement over using a split finger tab. Shawn

I make my own 3 under tabs, bought a leather purse from Goodwill for $1.00 and got six tabs out of it.

Bunyan, send me a PM with your address and I'll throw you one in the mail.

I agree with making them you can get fancy or keep it grude and cut it out with a pocket knife.

keep it egg shaped w/a smaller finger size hole on the small end of the egg shape.

good luck

I use the 3 under black widow also, but you can't flip it back and out of the way like you're talking about doing.

I`ve aiways made my own tabs but about 5 years ago I lost a tab on a hunt and the only tab I could find in my bag was my bowfising tab,a Saunders plastic tab. By the end of the hunt I had realised this was the best tab I had ever used. It`s very fast, and completely weather proof. It is stiff and takes a little getting used to but has helped my one finger at a time release that has plagued me for quite a while now. Every one of my hunting buddies are using it now. It`s a one over tab and works well either way. They are cheap so give it a try. I think you will like it.

Absolutely!

I've tried a number of 3-under tabs over the years and never really took a liking to any of them. Personally, I like the PSE/King tabs with the plastic spacer.

I shoot 3 under with a split tab.  No problems, but I make my own also, out of deer hide.  Keep the fur on and cut it from the belly side.  Shape it and cut a finger hole.  It is that easy.  I typically keep these in my day packs as a backup, but in practice, they shoot good.

I totally agree with Smallwood.  I keep three just in case I misplace two.
