Might want to look at the Damascus glove. Gives a real nice feel for the string.

3Rivers Dura-Glove or ABS Skookum Megatuff glove. Big Shot is very nice too, but not my personal favorite, although it is the favorite of many other people.

I too have searched, and continue to search, for the perfect glove.

Here is an idea that I like.  I take a Damascus glove and get it broken in.  Once this is done I cut the fingertips off so the ends of my 3 fingers are out, just the tip.  Then I find some nylon material like is used on straps from laptop cases and such.  Just the thin nylon material.  I cut pieces to fit each finger stall and glue them on with Super Glue.  It would be better if you were handy with a sewing machine or knew someone that was.
After it is in place you have a glove that gives great protection, feels great and has s heck of a release.  Try it.

Sure you could get the same effect by buying a BIG SHOT, but they are darn near $50.  My home made version is about $15.

I just bought the American Leather Big Shot Glove to try it out.

I think it and the Damascus are the favorites around here.

Good Luck.

I am just breaking in a new American Leathers Big Shot elk glove. So far I like it the best of any I've tried. I have a super glove, but the finger tips are too big and clubby for my taste.

If you like the thin feel of the Damascus, but want a more durable glove, the Duraglove is hard to beat. For shooting bows over 50#, though, the Big Shot has it beat by far. From its appearance and from what others here have said, the Big Shot is very durable, which might take some of the sting out of the initial cost. Tried the big shot, not bad but I found it to be too much and not as accurate as the Damascus glove, then a friend of mine who is a ex Nat'l and world champion distance shooter told me to stop screwing around and get a cordovan tab, took a little getting use to but what a difference in my shooting ability, and I shot pretty good before the tab.

So I know you are looking for a glove, but I would highly recommend a Bateman cordovan tab.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

It depends for what kind of use you need it.
A thinner glove gives you a more sensitive feeling at anchor point and clean release, but if you are practicing dozen after dozen,it can be arsh on the fingers and a heavier glove is more desiderable!

I always wait for the big Trad shoots and buy one there. I like to try them on. I wear a large and they don't seem to fit the same. I wear the Skookum MegaTuff Glove.

i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...

i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...

does that mean i'm up-to-date?

I have been using the Kustom King Classic Glove. It is just a tad thicker than the Damascus glove. After quite a bit of time using the Damascus, I like the Classic a bit better. It is still an all deerskin glove and I like the comfort of that.

Another vote for Bigshot by American Leathers.  Best I have used in over 40 years.

I shoot 47 lbs. and I like the feel of the string when hunting.  For this I found an older Bear glove that just feels the best to me.  The Damascus is a close 2nd.  However when target shooting, I prefer a tab.
