Iowa Bunny Hunt?

There used to be an Iowa Bunny Hunt in January organized here on Tradgang. I was never able to go to them because of my sons' wrestling schedule. Is anyone planning one?

The last one I remember got canceled before it came about.
Have not heard about any this year.

The best rabbit hot spots around here are the big messy farm groves and country junk yards. Both are difficult to get access on these days. But it was our winter adventure when we were kids.
Prairie City, that town still there? My sister taught at the Christian school there way way back in the late 50s.

Yes, Prairie City is still there. Just drove through it the other night on a shortcut from the interstate.
I am up for a bunny hunt. 1 month left. In this weather we will be in shorts and tshirts:)
Cats have taken our bunny pop way down on my place. Anyone know of a hot spot?

We always kicked up a few bunnies in the Lake Sugema area. Had a couple bunny hunts there in the past. We never hurt the population much. I haven't been down there this year to check it out. Of course that is pretty south and a long drive for some. If anyone know of any areas more centrally located, I would be up for a road trip if the dates work out.

I have a bunny that sits behind my air conditioner outside almost every day. Maybe we could surround my house and someone could get him to move for us. Then again, maybe we shouldn't be slinging arrows in town! (north central Iowa)

I went out two Saturdays ago between DesMoines and Indianola and didn't even see a bunny. I think the bobcats and coyotes have put a hurt to them the last couple years around here.

I usually see 3-4 while driving to the farm my grandfather owns, just west of Des Moines off of I80 about 20-25 miles. They were always on the gravel road but there is some public hunting 2 miles from our farm, big open grassy area followed by timber. Could always turn into a shed hunt if we don't find any bunnies!

I plan to go out Firday at my place to stump and look for sheds. Hope to find some bunny sign. We use to have tons before the cats showed up.
Hubby and I are in for a group hunt if within a few hours of Des Moines.

I may make a day out of it if it is not to far out of DESmoines! That is only 3 hours from here! Especially if shed hunting is involved!!!!
