I have two Thermal recurves and was wanting to have new limbs made, but it seems like Ric has dropped off the face of the earth. If anyone on this forum knows Ric and can contact him please do so and have him respond on the forum as to whether he is or is not making bows. I think there are a number of people who would like to know. I sure would! If he isn't then I will probably be talking with the owner of Rainy Day bows about a new recurve.

years ago Ric told me he was only going to make a couple bows a year if that, he was too busy with other things he said. Ric hardly posted here when he did make bows full time so your better off just e-mailing him.

I hope Ric is doing well and pursuing whatever his interests are today. Ric made me my first custom bow, a Chinook, and he inserted two of my elk ivories at no extra charge. I also had a matching knife made. He's a true craftsman and treated me great.

I agree... Rics bows are works of art.  He was the first custom bowyer I spoke with when I got back into traditional archery again.  Shame on me for not buying one of his bows then!!!

Gene, when you speak to Ric simply ask him if he plans to continue making bows or limit the number of bows he makes per year. It would just be good to know what he is going to do. I sincerely hope he didn't suffer tremendous losses from the floods and that he can recover. If there is anything we can do to help let us know what it would be.

I wanted a Marriah as soon as I saw them when I first became interested in traditional archery.  A couple months ago I was lucky enough to get one from a fellow tradganger.  It won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Hi everyone.  Thanks for the kind words and interest in my bows. A special thanks to you, L.E, for the call notifiying me of this thread. I have been meaning to let everyone here at Tradgang know what was happening in regards to Marriah Bows, so I guess nows a good time.  The last couple of years have been mostly uphill for me in several regards so I quit taking custom orders a year ago or so.  I currently have 3 custom bows to make and they will probably be the last customs.  What I am going to do is to continue to make bows but instead of making customs I'm going to build the different models of Marriah bows in various weights and draw lengths still using highly functional, beautiful woods and do alot of fun things with them such as arrow inlays in the limbs, elk antler overlays, etc.  Some will be more fancy than others so the prices will vary somewhat but probably not much.  The economy is such that money is tight for alot of people out there and by doing this I will be able to offer these bows for a very fair price here on Tradgang.  I've always tried to keep prices rock bottom and will continue to do that.  My plans are to build a bow, take pictures of it and post it here in the classified ads.

Now I'll ask a favor of all of you...please post what are the draw weights you all prefer.  I'll keep checking in here for the results and to answer any questions that you might have.  Please feel free to contact me via private mail if you'd like.

Thanks all,

Ric

Thank you for the update Rick!

I just returned home from a trip to a very brown central Montana - saw a little of the white stuff on Rogers Pass and around Lincoln - but it has been an unusual winter so far!

I'll be lookin' forward to seein' your new offerings!

Keep the wind in your face and have a great 2012!

Shoot straight, Shinken
