And he shall be known as WEBER
« on: December 30, 2011, 08:39:00 PM »
With this being the last weekend for deer in South Florida I needed to put some things aside and get my butt in a stand. Checked my game cameras and 2 of the 3 were only showing night time movement. The third camera, I somehow forgot to put a SD card in last weekend! The wind was right for the stand near the game cam with no card in it so I figured that was my best bet. Sure didn't have much going on anywhere else.
Right at dark I had a whole passel of hogs come in. The sow was too skinny, The boar was too big. But this one was juuuust right   :D

If I have to tell the truth I missed the big boar and he took off, taking the sow with him. But about 8 or 10 little shoats stuck around.Really hard to pick a spot when theres a bunch of little critters mingling around together and its just about too dark to see much of anything.
I picked one that had a little color on him right about where I wanted to hit him and let her fly.
Little guy fell over right there and was dead in less than 30 seconds. Clipped the liver. one lung and center punched the heart. Tell me I ain't gooo, ahhh I mean lucky!   :p    :p

Hey Brad,
Nice shot.... good to see someone else is willing to shoot the tender meat when hunting.

My last doe weighed in at a whopping 55.8 lbs.    :D

Maybe we should get together for a hunt. I'll bet between the 2 of us we may just kill enough critters to break 100 lbs.     :archer:

Considering how small the pig is you must have meant that you picked a small small spot, GOOD SHOOTING!

Have a Happy New Year.

Thanks guys. Was an end to a looong dry streak.
Ben, That bookshelf is a monstrosity. 10'X8'. We don't watch any TV with the exception of an occasional movie via netflix or amazon so reading is what we do.
Gator, Same bow. Its not going anywhere. I must have been suffering from temporary insanity when I put her up for sale.
Bawana, Yes, lets hunt and see how small we can go LOL When I was stationed at Fort Riley Kansas way back when I held the record for one year for the smallest deer killed on post. Thinking it was 37# gutted. And thats in the land of the 300# deer!
Weber is going to get smoked next weekend when my folks are down from SC. but for now.

Gratuitous pic of the bookshelf    ;)

Nice shootin'!
