A while back some of you may have noticed a thread where Mickey Lotz asked if anyone had some knapping videos/DVDs that he could preview to see which he wanted to order for his library of instructions. I was glad to be able to offer and send him some I had. When I returned from ATAR there was a message from Mick, thanking me and saying they were on the way back. Yesterday I got the package with a nice note from mickey  -  plus . Thank you for your thoughtful and very welcome gifts, my friend. He made the knife and sheath. He said the blade is one side of a branch shears. The sheath/case is super soft (but stiff lined) leather. The knapped points he traded for, and I love all of the gifts (which he insisted were "nothing" - his word   "[dntthnk]"  Far from nothing to me, buddy. Thanks again.) Your thoughtfulness is legend and I pray you shake your penumonia quickly. Have Fun at Mojam but be safe.

It's this type of stuff that makes this site so precious. Real sweet!

So, karma sometimes does function! What a lovely little knife. I much prefer models, like this, where the handle is much bigger than the blade, as that gives you some serious leverage when the going gets tough, like separated the two hind quarters from an elk's pelvis. Cheers to both of you, Dave

Thanks, guys. As you know, Frank, one can never have too many knives -   :D  but I'll never catch up with Ron LaClair   "[dntthnk]"  I am blessed with a number of them though. Mickey is on his way to Mojam, I believe, but he would thank you for the kind words also. He says this knife will do for Pepperoni, Cheese, Summer sausage, etc. which is what he uses neck knives for. I ran it in my RADA washer type sharpener a few light swipes though, and it is sharper 'n sharp. It also is a very sturdy little rascal, so i think it would handle lots more than that too. The points  are  very nice and I really like the little rose/whitish colored one.
