When I set him up to get a picture his body settled quite a bit.
The arrow hit about a third of the way up from his bottom line and angling forward. The old pig was deep and thick so I expect he weighed fairly good; I don't have a scale but wouldn't be surprised if he shaded 250 #.
I've proven to myself that 45# is adequate for deer and pigs. I'd much rather have an accurate hit from a 45 pounder than a marginal hit from a heavy bow. When I was a bit younger I shot bows with nearly double the poundage and surely enjoyed their performance.. Due to some hand injuries and neck problems I've come down to the 45-50 pound bows.
Accurate arrow placement and razor sharp broadheads makes for clean quick kills.
