Nothing real big in the antler deptartment for me last week. I mounted my Acorn up about 10 ft and I need to readjust it down a little.

Had a good herd when my son and I arrived Monday morning.

I've been putting together individual folders for each deer so I can keep track of growth and to see if they stay in the area when pre-rut kicks in.

So, I picked out my top picks for the bucks walking around my hunting area. I feel like I have a pretty good selection this season    :)

I just think it's weird that I have some genetics in my deer population to where some don't have brow tines. In those deer, they are either non-existent(Little John) or they are elongated(Gnarly) and higher up on the main beam. It's not just one deer. I have seen three or four of them that way. So, it's beyond culling I think.

This has got to suck! poor girl   :help:

Sorry for the bad pics, I took them with my phone off the computer screen after my son emailed them to me. He had 3,900 pics to go through from three cams so I don't have the SD cards yet.

Tracy - are those engorged ticks or some type of cancerous growth on that doe?

TREE KILLA - those are some great deer and elk pics!

The dates are wrong obviously. It was 95 degrees today, sunny and dry.You wouldn't believe how cold the water is in that trough.Bears use it to cool off.I've known this old mamma for at least 12 years and she was mature then.

I always like seeing baby deer. I have fired up the corn feeder for the last week to help supplement these deer with something to eat until the food plots take hold.

I figure this drought would be hard on younger deer.

So, even though the corn prices are getting stupid expensive now, I will make sure they have a little extra food to eat to hold them over.

Uh oh, I didn't know there were cubs.

Looks like I need to carry my pistol when I'm up on the bluff now. Don't need a pissy momma bear jumping on me from having cubs with her.

I may go hang up some catfish in the trees for them to eat. Those are about the easiest fish to catch with mass. I want all of my animals doing well during this drought, especially is they have babies.

There is no question that they are related. Nice ones. I wish mine could get over the 8pt hurdle.
