That's what I bought mine for, I have a chek-mate hunter 1 as my Number 1 bow, and it is amazing how close in feel the sage feel to it.  I can pick it up and shoot as bad with it, as I can with my #1 bow (lol). I have muskox string silencers and limb savers on mine, It pretty quite.

This bow also makes a great bow fishing bow (it has all the add on threaded holes you need to set it up). I have it all set up for bow fishing but have only practiced with up to this point. This summer, I hope to change that.
Life is about learning from your mistakes!

Chek-mate hunter I 62" riser with 60" limbs 49&42lbs@28

Samick Sage 62" 50lbs@28

I bought a sage strickly for bowfishing.  I usually shoot a longbow but the traditional adapter for my AMS real does not hold the real in place to well and instead of drilling hole in my longbows I figured i would buy the Sage instead and it works great.

I have had a red stag, in the 50 pounds range. It was a very good bow! I liked it so much that I decided to buy another Samick. Now I currently have a Phoenix II (62", 55#28@). It´s a fine looking and shotting. I have a review in you tube of the last one. It´s a shame that is in Portuguese, but you can give a good look in the bow in action. This is the link:

My first bow is Sage 35#. Great bow for the money.
