Jerry Hill Longbow?
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:49:00 PM »
Need any information on a Jerry Hill longbow. I understand he was the nephew of Howard Hill. He made me a custom 70" longbow in 1986. Beautiful bow that I have never hunted with but shot for a few years and then put it up. Anyone else have one of these or info about one. Thanks

I moved into the Harpersville, Alabama area in the mid 1970's. Howared Hill passed away around that time but I wasn't aware of who he was at the time. I met Jerry and he helped me to get started in archery. Later he built this bow for me and now I need to do something with it. Trying to find info about this bow and anyone that is interested in it.

I have a Jerry Hill Wildcat Deluxe. Pretty nice, hard shooting long bow. String it up and shoot it!

My buddy has a Jerry Hill. He has been hunting with it this past year. I have shot it and enjoyed as well.

I owned a Jerry Hill Stalker Deluxe and thought it was a good shooter.

I don't remember anything bad or negative about it.

I still get a warm fuzzy feeling when I think of it.

What model, weight, etc? I have a 69" ntn J. Hill Elite 67#@28" that is a great shooter & quick. The rap on J. Hills is handshock that I've never experienced w/mine +/or others I've shot. And, Jerry is a great guy w/his own list of worthy credits to Trad archery.

Here's a pic, I do need better ones. I took off the leather wrap, since I like the looks of the handle area and don't care for any type of handle wrap (That's just Me)

That picture must be the back of the bow...if it's not then I've had no experience with it.

My 1st glance said.. "it's a lefty" then I didn't see any writing on the limbs so I'm guessing that it's unstrung and looking at it's back.

Help me out here Sal...lol

Wow, I guess my experience was atypical.  The Jerry Hill bow I shot kicked like it was carved from a metal fencepost and strung with brake cable.

Pretty bow, but I couldn't make myself shoot a five shot group with it.
