What's a "blood grove"?  Did you mean blood GROOVE?  And why on earth would a broadhead need a blood groove if that's what is being referred to?  Enlighten me.  Sounds like something meant to separate folks from their money.

David, I think it's just supposed to be a cool sounding name. Kinda sounds like the name for a metal band...

All I know, is that the Woodsman 3 blade heads fly great and are easy to sharpen!!! So I am looking forward to finding out what this new head has to offer. I am sure it will be worth the wait!!!

In my experience, the 3 blade woodsman creates its own blood groove.  :D

Well I was looking for info on the 160 Woodsman Elite to see why the design seems to have changed and found this thread. I have been using the 160 Elite , on and off , for a year or two. I like em and decided to re supply. The Elites I received have a different ferrule than before and are a full 1/4 inch shorter. They do weigh in at 160 and appear the same width. They did not come "hunt ready sharp" by my standards( the edge wouldnt catch my fingernail) but that is easily corrected. When looking at the head, point up, the left bevel is much wider than the right bevel ( quality control?) In essence it's not the same broadhead.
I'm sure these will work out but I sure would have prefered the old design. Just when you find something you like.....

If it goes all the way through, what does the groove do?
Does it need batteries?

Still nothing on them?

Maybe they only exist in some isolated areas- like the quivers of a new tribe of bowhunting Sasquatch....

Alligatordond. The woodsman elite has always been manufactured by VPA and is the same head as their terminator. I don't know if the VPA changed their design on the 160 grain but I know the 175 grain screw in has not changed any.

I too have been shooting the woodsman for several years. I use the elites mostly now. The only thing i don't like is they are now made smaller on the shaft end. I belive they are all made for 5/16 shafts. My arrow dynamic traditional lites are now larger than the end of the boadhead. Anyone else notice this?
