"A Day Stand Hunting"
O fair wind, how calmly still
Thou lay thy silent hand
O'er the open hill and dewy grass
As I climb to take my stand
Gaze out then, on Gods great splendor
The beauty of it all
Fill my mind with breathless wonder
As I listen, and hear natures call
Like a sleeping child, the world gently 'wakens
The shadows recede by and by
And a sense of peace within me sharpens
The man with whom am I
A hunter and predator, among the field
I'll sit, from morning, noon 'til night
In silent hopes the day will yield
To the deadly bow and arrow I wield
A bountiful harvest, within my sight
