My "go to" wool shirt is my Woolrich buffalo plaid in rust/brown. I've had it a number of years and it continues to serve me well. If I throw my red/black check Filson vest over it, I'm good into the upper 30's.

Johnson Woolen Mills ( Jac shirt ) makes some nice ones, lot's of patterns and colors to pick from. They make an awesome hand warmer too, I have one in spruce green wool and it's gotta be real cold to use it.
My mistake, the hand warmer is Bemidji woolen mills. They make some great stuff too.

My father and I used to have wool shirts by a company named Spinnaker, they were a pullover with a 1/4 zipper and two flap pockets. really great hunting shirt. My was damaged some years back and now I cant find them anywhere. My personal "murphys law" of hunting gear has become: If you find something you really love buy at least two of them because they will stop making them just before it breaks or wears out

The Asbell shirts have the best hood and pockets for hands by a long shot.

I guess this would have to be my favorite wool shirt. Yes, it is one of Teresa's.

When it gets really cold you can't beat a Two Tracks wool vest over a longhunter shirt.

I'm not a big "button up" wool shirt guy, but I've always loved my Swannie which is considered a bush shirt. But from what I read, Ron's shirts above are made of much heavier wool and he's a Tradganger. Along with the Asbell pullovers. I'll be getting into those soon. I love pullover type shirts.

I've been wearing Classic Bowman Sporting Woolens the last few years...in the woods, mountains, and even occasionally to the mall, HA.

Both Sears and Montgomery Wards offered quality wool shirts for many years. I have found several cruising thrift stores. These shirts were all in very good condition.

RLA beat me to it, but Johnson Woolen Mills puts out a great quality wool Jacket, and it's MADE IN VERMONT, USA, not Asia. I saw some at the Kittery Trading Post yesterday, and it is next on my list. It was refreshing to see an "American Made" label.

Yes, I too share a passion for 100% virgin wool, USA made apparel. I'm looking forward to retirement where the toughest decision I'll face each day will be deciding which flannel shirt to wear.
Anything Filson is great. Johnson Woolen Mills long tail wool shirt or their shirt-jacs can't be beat for comfort of movement and windproof in the worst conditions. Light duty or part of layers would go to Theresa's custom wool products. (I think if you don't have one of these TA made items you're missing out on something wonderful!) I believe the Stormy Kromer is made by Bemidji Woolens which would make it top quality. Anything Ron LaClair endorses you can be sure is the best of the best. We're extremely fortunate to have so many great, USA made sources for 100% wool.

My favorite is the one in my avatar, it is over 20 years old and my brother gave it to me a few years after I started bowhunting. Don't remember what brand it is as the name tag came out. Got to admit, am really liking the Grousehaven shirt Rob came out with. Saw it in person last year at Whittingham.
