come on turkeys!!!
« on: January 11, 2012, 01:17:00 PM »
Anybody already dreaming bout Spring gobblers.I`ve already started sprucing up some Field blinds and funnels. I`m more of a Turkey Hunter than caller but I can`t wait. I got a couple of very good "new" spots to hunt this year too.
I`m gonna be shooting my trusty Mohawk 47@27 and 64" long and either 2016`s with Tiger Sharks or Wilderness tapered Douglas fir with Tiger Sharks. Gotta practice a lot sitting down cause mid March will be here quick.RC

I am with you RC.

Just dialed in my spring turkey season set-up. Still can't refrain from actually playing with it a little more.

I'm with you! I'm going to be shooting a Silvertip 71@28 this season. Hopefully I can find a suitable arrow for it this weekend. I like your think with the Tiger Shark RC, if I can find some I'll give those a try too. COME ON APRIL!

My wife came home from the store today and said there was a turkey gobbling when she got out of the car.  I saw toms strutting in a field last Tuesday.Strange weather for Michigan in January, but it still gets me fired up for turkey season.

Taking my 3 year old out with me this year. Our first hunting trip together.(Hopefully of many) We've been practicing from the popup blind and sitting still. (As still as can be anyway) I really don't care if we see/hear any. But, still gonna take my bow...just in case ;-)

I can't remember a year I was this excited about turkeys so early. I want to take one without a blind but If my boys(6 and 4) want to go a blind won't bother me a bit.

Trying to decide on broadheads now. Either a 4 blade delta or terminator 175.

I'm with you, RC!! Although I am somewhat worried. Our place is usually swarming with turkeys year around but they seem to have disapperaed this year. I don't know if it is because of the drought, increased oilfield traffic, or a combination of both, but I sure hope they come back before mid-March.

Right there with you RC.  Some years I get fired up for it and others not so much.  I'm burning up this year.  Feeling sentimental....think I'm gonn hunt with a Jeffery 53lb, 68" Classic Timberline longbow this turkey season.  My Dad bought it about 20 years ago and it has never killed anything.  I just purrrr'd thinking about it....

I think I look forward to turkey season as much or more than deer season.

Here's part of a flock of 60+ that visit our house every day.

In addition there is a seperate flock of a dozen toms that come around almost every day. I know right where the blind is going up about a week before the season. I took this pic last week from my wife's office window.
