Yes Roy, astronaut Joe Engle hunted with Fred. In fact quite a few others from "The Cape" frequently visited the Bear Archery shooting range in Gainesville.

Ishi, Bart Scheyler and Jay Massie.

There's not enough room here to name all the present ones I would like to meet or meet again. I hope to meet Dr. Ashby at Kalamazoo.

Fred Bear, and Paul Schafer for sure... I was lucky in belonging to a club that had Glen St Charles as a Member and got to see him occasionally at shoots and yearly Banquets.
I enjoy seeing and shooting breeze occasionally Steve Gore and Fred Anderson at our shoots.

I'm really looking forward to meeting Gene and Barry along with Mike Mitten for the first time, at the up-coming PBS banquet in March.

I think a lot of Tradgangers would enjoy hunting with many of the other tradgangers here. Like values and methods thrown into a setting of a hunting camp makes for a likely match.

I've had the pleasure of being in camp with Ron LaClair and Fred Asbell. Both are fine woodsmen, engaging conversationalists and of course a wealth of traditional archery wisdom/history.  They also are both intimately concerned with the promotion and growth of traditional archery. I met Fred Bear one time for a couple of minutes years ago at an archery show in 1980, however it would be a genuine treat to have him in camp at Shrewhaven Lodge for sure.

I'd share a hunting camp with any of the Shrewhaven crew anywhere. They're all fine gentleman, great camp mates and good people.

I've gotten to meet many cool people involved in traditional archery over the years. I never met Fred Bear when I was younger, but I met Frank Scott when the museum was still in Gainesville. That was a cool dude to talk to. I bet we shot the breeze for over an hour. I never met Glenn St.Charles, but met several of his clan, including his lovely wife Margaret, who chatted with me for awhile. Got to meet Dr. Grayson, John Rook, Fred Kasch (My daughters both spent time visiting with him at Cloverdale and MOJam)Those are just a handful of people I am glad to have met. There are hundreds more from archery I am glad to call "friend". I could drop names all day. I have also been yodeled awake by Mudd on a few occasions!
