T/D Recurve Pics Please!
« on: January 15, 2012, 08:59:00 PM »
Ok, I did the search thing but, would like to have a thread for take down recurves. Got a bug in me and might be making the switch from predominately longbows to a t/d recurve and want to see some different styles. Thanks in advance...and NO BASHING ME you longbow guys, I'm sick!!    :D

And if the you can't shake the bug, you can always get longbow limbs to put on the same riser.

Here is my latest. A Sierra Blanca bow by Jess Stewart. It's based on the old Rocky Mtn Recurve design. Bow is 50" and 2 sets of limbs 51# and 42#
Riser is curly maple w/ zebra wood accents. Limbs are Tamo ash and zebra wood.Sheep horn overlays.

Chek-mate hunter 1 take down

62" 54lbs@28 inches

Walnut and Maple riser, elm limbs.  the older it gets the richer the colors have gotten.  These pictures are from my first year hunting with it, I had my string unwrap before I took the picture, so yes I have fixed the brace height.

OK - I guess I won't bash you.  It's never nice to pick on a sick person.

I'm a longbow guy, but I'll admit, these sure are some pretty bows.
