Man I appreciate this thread. You just don't see selfbows on TG enough as far as I am concerned.

Here are a few of my bows.

Look past the modern equip. please.

48 and 50 inch bows.

Osage recurve Allan made for me.  He makes bows, I make sticks.

47" sinew backed osage recurve pulling 65 @ 24.

L to R
Osage 32" no longer alive. 47" osage. 68" sinew backed osage recurve, it's back on the bench getting a snakeskin backing. Allan's recurve. 60" sinew backed osage pig stick. Last, my very first osage selfbow, stave given to me by Joe Mattingly. (prized possesion) Not pictured are a variety of longbows and stickbows.
Can't cheat the mountain,
Mountain got it.

I agree with Grey ghost. This is about as trad as it gets and the way I'm hunting next season!

Here's a few of mine.  Some have underlays, siyahs, and/or splines in the limb tips, which doesn't quite make them a true selfbow, but the working portion of them all is a true stave.

"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17

A very simple D-bow for my father-in-law.

"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17

An ELB for my brother-in-law:

"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17

A good ol' fashioned working recurve:

"Walk softly...and carry a bent stick."

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him."  Col. 3:17
