Got a sample spool of the new 8190 from BCY today. Looking for a couple of folks to do some testing. My regular customers will be given preferance. I just want opinions about the material. I only have one small spool of OD Green right now, so I'll only be sending out a few. Endless or flemish, your pick. Only for bows rated for FF type materials.
8190 is the strongest and toughest string material to date, with the least stretch and creep. The diameter is very small--about 25% smaller than 8125. It's made from SK90 Dyneema--the strongest ever by far (Dynaflight '97 is SK75, Dynaflight 10 is SK78) with some GORE added to further increase durability.
This is the first material that I am comfortable making a "skinny" string with, since the risk of failure/damage is much less, and it has less stretch/creep than any previous material. Still, with a small diameter string, you have much less room for adjustment, so keep that in mind.
I will not be installing silencers, and I prefer than anyone testing the string do some shooting before installing silencers, to get a true feel and idea of the string noise.
12 strands should be fine for most bows--that will be the same diameter as 9 strands of 8125.
Again, preferance will be given to my regulars, and in return for the string I need input.
