Frank,

Awesome knives.  Excellent attention to the detail.  I have some questions.  You cut the blades out of an old eastern sword.  Is it possible you have wootz steel there?  Wootz has a very fine damacus like grain to the steel but instead of layers wootz is shot through with the high carbon steel veins.  Second question,  what did you use to cut your blade out of the sword.  I have a few endopersian blades and some scrap kriss knives that I think would make some excellent hunting knives.  I am afraid to use to much heat to cut out blanks for fear of harming the temper.  Did you retemper the blade?
thanks for the info

Brian yes I tempered the blade. I use a air grinder witha cutoff wheel and go very slow and dip in water often so not to over heat the metal. Thanks for the nice words everyone.<><

Man, I used to have a couple of Indopersian Talwars that had steel like that. Good stuff. One of the swords I had was over 250 years old and was still sharp enough to cut ya' if you weren't careful.

Too cool, Frank. Great looking knives.
