A family stump shoot
« on: January 29, 2012, 03:01:00 PM »
It was a nice morning to get out and do a little stumpin'.  We got about two inches of new snow last night so the woods were especially nice to be in.  To make it even better it was an outing for the whole family.

Here's the gang ready to go.

Not far from the cabin we came across a bedded buffalo.  Here's my oldest son, Luke, getting ready for his shot.

Next, Zach saw a snapping turtle that he wanted to shoot.

Next it was my wife Jen's turn.

On we go looking for more action.

The hole in this log proved to be a challenge for us.

We had a little more success with this stump.

Very nice!!  What a great family event!!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Thanks all, we really enjoy getting out and shooting when we can.  Sixty two degrees sounds great, the truck said it was 18 degrees here when we were on the way home.  I guess one gets used to it.
