A Pine Hollow Masterpiece
« on: January 29, 2012, 03:09:00 PM »
I should have done this a long time ago. Last summer Mike Yancey contacted me, a few months later I had a new Pine Hollow Longbow. This bow is 60" 60@28, Sinew backed Osage with some added flare from Mike. I tell you what Mike is an artist. The sinew is made to replicate the antlers of a big bull elk. Its a shooter too!!!!

Randy, Mike had one similar to that at KaZoo. That line of repeated dots seems to be a favorite of his. I second the woodies, maybe with self nocks and tied on feathers?

I wonder what he rubbed into that sinew to get the finish like that. It looks great!!

Very nice bow and a shooter to boot  :)

I'm becoming quite partial to Osage bows and that's a beauty!

Might be some black walnut husks or brown shoe dye.  I got a similar effect from wood ashes/only it was grey/black instead.

Yep, you need some woodies to send downrange. Does this mean that (gasp!) the Ferret is retired for next elk season?

I must be honest the Ferret will always be my GO TO bow. This will see some woods time though.

Very nice bow, and I like that rough look. If that brick wall is your backstop you better not miss or it could get expensive.

I sought out Mike this weekend at Kalamazoo.  It was a pleasure to meet him and his wife.  He had some cool bows in his booth.  Can't wait to see the work they do on those Wyoming antelope this year.
