Tall Tines Checkering
« on: January 30, 2012, 08:15:00 AM »
Picked up my Ebony 3 Pc Longbow riser from Brian this weekend.  If you are on the fence on whether to add checkering to your order...DO IT!

I don't know how many lines per inch it is or any of the particulars, all I know is this checkering is just like everything else he does; just right

Perfect placement and perfect texture.

And these two just to show the difference the flash makes when taking a picture.  Especially when you are taking photos of your animals, it is worth the time to take some with different camera settings:

That is some nice work reminds me of my dads over and under.

Nice looking bow.  I agree, the checkering is both functional and appealing to the eye.  Good luck.

Thanks guys.  This is not a new bow.  I just sent one of the TTs I had back in to be done.  Looks like I will have to rotate them ALL back thru the shop now   ;)

I can attest to how beautiful the look and feel is.  I got to hold that bow this weekend at Kzoo, and now I'm rethinking my decision to install leather grips on mine.  That is one task that should be left to the professionals, and Brian (once again) proved he is at the top of that list.

Awesome bow Steve, and excellent work Brian.

Looks exactly like Dave Windauer's checkering. I wonder if Dave does Brian's bows. I know that he checkers for others.

Brian does his own checkering.  He has my riser right now working on refinishing it and it will also be checkered.  He's also completed a new set of limbs for me.  I should be seeing it in the next couple of weeks.  He does fantastic work!

Steve,

Thanks for posting the pics of your bow!

You simply cannot beat high quality checkering on a riser. Best option that you can buy with a bow!

Steve,

After I held onto you're bow I will just have to have mine checkered also...can't wait.

Best of both worlds...you get to see all the lines of the riser and have a positive grip at all times.

Warchild,

Brian does his own checkering.  I've been in the shop and seen it with my own eyes.  When he first started building bows for sale and before he learned to do it, he was having Sherry Abrahms do it so his customers would  still get a quality product.  The guy is so darn talented, I get a little jealous sometimes    :notworthy:
