As I've done for the last three years I took a 1/2 days vacation and headed from work for the three hour drive to Kalamazoo. I've been attending this gathering almost yearly since it started in Hastings in the early 90's. I had a mental checklist of what I wanted to do Friday before I had to make the return trip back home around 7:00pm. The note on the door said "Please no back quivers". No problem, I left it and my arrows in the truck, by design I brought limited funds so I could shoot some bows but not purchase. I'm an admitted "bowaholic", I'm like a junkie in a crackhouse in a place like this! On my drive down my wife called me and asked "what's that long tube on the front porch?" I told her not to worry about it. It's just "another Griffin". My checklist.

Take lot's of pictures, hard to do when I left my camera at home          :(

With all these compliments, I wonder if she'll ever be the same at the BBTC campfire.

Also, if I understand correctly from Silver_Wolf, Killy took possession of three(3) more bows.

But, being the good guy that I am... I willing to assist her by offering her a storage area (for the bows) at an undisclosed location of my choice.

Thanks, Dave.    :scared:
Thankfully, he didn't recognize who everybody was talking about.

Are you guys really sure that was our Killy you met and are talking about???

(Duck - Incoming)

Just kidding, she is everything y'all said, and much, much more. As is well known on here she and I have enjoyed a goodly number of shoots together (not near enough, never enough), and hope to enjoy more. So glad she got to go to K'zoo, know it is something she has wanted to do. I will definitely save that pic of her and Ron - know it was as big for her as it was for him.

By the way, here's a tip for future reference, if you see someone and you think it's Killie, if she's trying out a lot of bows, buying wood arrows or knives, or shooting the ranges, and is shorter than you thought she'd be     ;)    - it's a good chance it's her, bless her heart. Say, "Hey," to her, you won't regret it (as long as you don't "rudely" interrupt her - LOL)   :archer:   Wish I could have been there too.

(Thanks for the heads-up on this thread, Don ,batman, wouldn't have wanted to miss it.)

Bernie, 2 icons like you and Killy at Kazoo at one time? I think the snow would've melted and the sky would fill with rainbows!

She's great!, not to out do anyone, but I not only got to shoot with her, I got to shoot her new bow, and a real beauty at that, the bow and the gal.

As we were driving home yesterday those were my words exactly.

Sometimes we form images in our minds about what someone is like without ever having met them based soley on impressions formed here.  Then when you finally met in person they end up being something completely different.  Not so with Killdeer.  She is exactly what I had expected, (Well, maybe not quite as tall  ;)  ) and the words that flow from her mouth are often as profound as the ones that she writes.

It was one of the highlights of a great weekend, and I look forward to the next time we meet.

Meeting Killdeer was one of the many privileges and pleasures of K'zoo this year.  I was shooting a GN Lil Creep and turned around to see Killie waiting her turn with a Black Widow in her hand.
