This is a difficult post to make, but I think the time has come.
I retired from a good career over three years ago, with the thought of finding something to do to occupy my new found free time. I started the Prairie Traditions business as a way to get involved with a business geared toward traditional archery. Eventually I ended up purchasing the Bow Hospital business from Jim Belcher of Sky Archery.
The Bow Hospital was a perfect fit for me, and I have come to love refinishing bows and bringing them back to life. But it has grown to the point that I think it is time to re-retire. I really would just like to slow down the pace of life and take the time to enjoy all of those other things I had looked forward to during retirement. I am looking for someone who would be interested in taking over the business.
I want to assure all of my current customers that any bow work that I have agreed to do and currently have on the schedule will remain in my hands and all work will be finished by me within the time frame that was originally promised. The transfer of the business will not affect them in any way. All bows currently in the shop or on the schedule will stay right here and I will continue to work until I have completed my backlog, and I will personally finish those bows. However, once a new owner is found I will start referring calls for new work directly to the new owner.
I am open to selling the Bow Hospital business alone, or I could also include the retail side of Prairie Traditions as well. If you have a serious interest please give me a call and we can see what might fit for you.
