Fred Bear Portrait
« on: February 03, 2012, 09:51:00 AM »
I'm looking for help in finding photos and permission to use these photos in my artwork. Fred Bear is first on my list, I'm interested in other archery icons and pioneers as well. Here is a couple photos of recent work. This work is hand etched in granite and framed in beautiful oak by a master carpenter.
Any help leading to the right photos and people to help would be appreciated, thank you.

I did go back and resize these photos to under 600, hope this will be good. Not great with this stuff.

LOL...in my own mind, maybe, Izzy!   I am sure that work of that quality is above my paygrade.

Good luck! I did a design of Fred Bear, only to be contacted by Bear Archery and reminded that I could in no way make money from his image. I hope you can, you do amazing work!!

I'm always interested in private commissions, creating pieces preserving history for museums, hall of fame and public displays is attractive to allow more people to see the work as it will last forever. Educational and Historical. I can do much more than 24"x24" granite slabs. Let your mind go, if you can concieve it, I may be able to do it.

Before Fred passed away he would have more than likely given you permission just because he like your work.  Later, Frank Scott could have gotten a quick  thumbs up.  I know this because that's how they approved of some of my ideas. Today, however, the name is considered "BRAND" so it's a lot tougher thing to accomplish.

I've been having a terrible time posting the right size pic's. There's got to be a better way.
