Who wants to hog hunt?
« on: February 07, 2012, 12:00:00 PM »
Talked with our new sponsor Martin Family Ranch this morning.   I am thinking strongly about heading down around March 12 for a few days of hog hunting - dates are a little open.   Leaving from Kansas City.   I was wondering if anyone might be interested in going.   Ranch is trad only, $75 a day.   I am not interested in getting a large group together, but a couple other TradGangers would be great!!!!    Let me know if interested, the ranch sounds great.

Plumber, he is a sponsor.   There is a thread from Terry welcoming him to Trad Gang, from yesterday.   I talked with him today for about 30 minutes.  I will send you a PM.

Do you stay on the ranch also or do you have to lodge/meals elsewhere?

How many days are you going to hunt?

Do they require a state license for hogs now?

Unless it has changed from last year, I got an out of state tag for around $45 for my hog hunt.  I will check, but am fairly sure it is unchanged.

Thanks arrow30!!   Check out his link.   I also talked with him for about 30 minutes yesterday.  Sounds like a good operation.   He is a Trad Gang member, shoots a Toelke Whip.

If i can get someone to fill in for me at work, and its usually not a problem, I'd like in on this.

What would be the plan for lodging?  Any camping areas nearby or would we be hoteling it?

I plan on staying in a motel in town -15 miles away.   He will have a primitive camping area.  I checked with Todd, the tag will be $48 for 5 days of hog hunting.

I think we will have a great time!!  I usually just buy my tag at Wally World when I get supplies.   Todd will send out a brief contract when we decide who wants to go.  If you are close to saying "yes", let me know what dates you want to arrive.   I am planning on March 12th, hunting for 3, maybe 4 days.  I would like to hold the group to 4 to 6 guys. Give Todd a call if you have any questions.   You can also PM me and I will give you a call back and try to answer any questions.   Todd is a sponsor.

Man, I sure wish I could Mel, but TX isn't in the cards for me this year.  Looks like it would be a good trip though!
