Dang, this is far away, but I'd make or buy a D bow just for this epic event.

Its around 20,000 acres within a 30 mile stretch of river bottom public land.Campground should hold 250. Couple of guys and myself hunted there a couple of weeks ago. Lots of pig sign and we had two shots. Pig hunting will be tuff in the Winter but they are there and there is plenty of room.RC

I haven't read the whole thread but did anyone mention the game zone we will be hunting and/or the names of the possible wmas?

You mentioned river bottom RC, but are there any actual rivers or creeks running through the area?  I'm wondering if there may be float hunting opportunities.  If so, I might bring my canoe.

The Ocmulgee River splits the two WMA`s in places. Depends on River stage as far as float hunting goes. If you wanted to hunt Oaky woods you could canoe straight across the River to save a 30 mile drive. RC

Man I am getting fired up over this one. I have everything I need and am getting ready.

I am going to Colorado in September on a DIY hunt for elk, but starting to get ready for this one too. I love hog hunting.

I am going to get the topo quadrants today for the two WMAs we will be hitting. I will let you know what they tell me.

Arrows by Snag, bow by Howard Hill Archery Tembo made by John Schulz, quiver from Howard Hill Archery and pig sticker by Bear MGC. Shooting thanks to Bob Wesley.

I am shooting the Tembo great with Snag's arrows and just ordered a second dozen for broad heads.

Here is the bow, arrows, quiver and pig sticker.

If I am strong enough I may have to bring Standing Bear along. Shhh don't tell Raging Water!

I DID IT! I cleared my schedule! I would very much like to attend this hunt, Wesley Special in hand! Permission to come aboard, Sir?

I will drive in from South Eastern Arizona, with my camping outfit. I could even get there a few days early, if help is needed.

I look forward to meeting so many of the folks who have kept me entertained and informed for so long. I am coming for the enlightened company; whether or not I end up with a dead hog on my hands is of little consequence!

I await your decision.....

I just added Owlmagnet to the, "Inaugural Hillgang Hog Hunt 2013".

This will have to be the first documented time that they've had so many Hill bow shooters come together for a fair chase hunt.

Oooo-rah! I'm on the list! Really looking forward to joining this Company of Archers....

Berlinder could help me with the spelling, but COULD YOU IMAGINE the "Kesseltrieben", or collapsing-circular-drive-hunt a hundred longbowmen could make? A hundred longbowmen, in an organized way, working together towards a common goal? Man, I'll bet that hasn't been done since the Middle Ages....

After today's archery practice with my Wesley, I think I'll start practicing with my hunting horn, just in case....

I used to hunt on backpacking trips. Now that I'm older, fatter, and wiser, I do most of my camping and hunting out of a small canvas wall tent, (Eena), and enjoy the benefits of a good wood stove. Is there a policy regarding the use of woodstoves on this hunt? Any Georgia WMA specifics we should know about? Do we need to import our own firewood, or can it be purchased or collected on or near the camping area?

I can bring in some dry mesquite with me if any of the outstanding outdoor cooks who will be attending could use some for a special meal. Just let me know.

There. I've done my part to push this thread a little closer to the first page, where it belongs! (I am so pumped!!!)

You can get wood from the wma as long as its already down.Woodstoves are cool . No generators after dark. Camping only in designated areas. No atv`s or driving on walk in roads for any reason.Kinda your normal rules.RC
