Haha Thanks! I have most of my own camping stuff, which is why I would prefer to take care of my own meals. I'd be up for sharing the stove. My preference is Dinty Moore Stew :-)

It would be cool to do one big dinner and charge us for it, just not every meal for me.

I have a Sarrels Teton, would that qualify as a Hill style bow?  I will be retiring this year, so if it does qualify, i will be there.  Thanks

You fellers don`t plan on a catered meal. It won`t happen. You folks will be in South Ga. Any time I camp no matter where I go I plan on my own food. There are local stores 10 miles away or so for a few supplies to be had and I`m sure there will be enough people there for everyone to have a ride to the store if that is needed.
I can camp two weeks on  100 dollers worth of food. maybe longer.RC

Looper

Yeah, I agree, RC. There's no telling what it would cost to have someone bring out enough food to feed 80 people. As far as the $100 bucks goes, that's probably high, even going all out for every meal. Normally, when I hunt, I eat cheap. Sardines, summer sausage, cheese, and crackers. I just figured that this might be some folks only trip to the south and why not give them a real taste of the south.

How about on one night we do a low country boil? It's pretty simple to make and you don't need anything extra to go with it. The ingredients can be prepared earlier, and, if we have a couple of 30 quart pots, it will only take 30 minutes to cook the whole batch. It won't cost more than a $5 a person, either, probably a lot less.

The rest of the time everyone can fend for themselves.

For some reason I just saw this thread.  Put me down.  I'm coming.  I'll bring bows to loan or sell, so if you don't have a Hill Style just email me.

Nate Steen .

Here's an idea for the food situation......when it comes down to the final month or so we need two lists....those driving/commuting and those flying.  Those who drive will "adopt" one or two fellas for the weekend...match up names off the lists.  Those people can contact each other, figure out food, bedding, etc. And that way there isn't a large burden on anyone....there will be plenty of campfires going for people to share vittles if they want to....

Killdeer

You know, I don't worry half as much about food as I do about where 81 people are gonna poop.

If you all want to have a meal there with a big BBQ grill, I am up for helping cooking and what not.  Heck, perfect time of the year for a weiner roast.  If nothing else could see if there is a hall close by and some of us do the cooking just to have a night to eat cheap, swap lives and remember Mr. Hill.  Whatever, I am just looking forward to meeting some of my Hill relation and have fun.

Owlmagnet

I've been looking at Georgia WMA website. The Ocmulgee WMA has four georgraphic components: Rum Creek; Sprewell Bluff; Standing Boy Creek; and West Point. Two of the four components have camp grounds and check stations: Rum Creek; and West Point. (If I have read it correctly.)

The other WMA mentioned, Oaky Woods, also has a camp ground and a check station.

Do we have a feel for which campground we will all meet up at? This will be quite a tent camp!

(I can't wait!)
