David-
I just found out last week from one of the guys in our group that he's bringing a pop-up. Most of the roads that I've seen in WMA's going to the camp-site are improved roads. Let's see what RC has to say.

I meant to ask you guys about the eating arangments. I know everyone will contribute to the cost, but what else is involved. Will there be a food tent/cooking area, everyone cooks for themselves or as a group. What will be the selection of foods ect, ect. Should I bring cookware, coffee pot?

I plan on being self sufficient. However like most group camping a spontaneous pot luck may errupt at any moment.

In Hawkinsville, which is only a few minutes away, there is a store called M & T meats. If you have the time on your way in or on your way out, you should check it out. It will be well worth the stop. You can google it and find out a little more info.

Roads are good to the campgrounds. Lots of room and I`ve seen popups there before.
I think the simplest thing would be for everyone to fend for themselves on food. Maybe have a pot luck of some sort but a nice camping/hunting trip can turn into work if you are not careful.

That part of Georgia hasn't seen this many Yankees invade since 1864 and them folks have long lasting memories.

A pot luck sounds great! but other than that ill be self sufficient, just to keep it simple.
Now to the important stuff, i thought id post the Hog killing combo that ive settled on, 70" 62lb Hill Panther in combo with a lodgepole pine shaft and 160 gr. Hill head, given the opp. that oughta get it done.

Knawbone, the Panther was one of Craigs stock bows, Red Cedar lams under clear glass and Bacote riser.
After having this one, im very impressed with the performance of the Red Cedar, so much so that i see another just like it in my future.

Moleman, thanks, I think I asked someone that same question once before. This getting older stuff is for the birds.Anyway it sounds like you have a good set up for procuring some bacon. I think I'm going to go with 160 grn ace heads on a heavily painted and polyed POC. Arrow weight will be about 580 grn. This arrow shoots great out of my 52 @ 26 Wesley string follow.

This may be a silly question but is there any use for a tree stand?

Yes. Unless you want to spot and stalk and still hunt only. Even if it goes unused, it would be good to have around.

FYI...There was some talk earlier about possibly doing a drive like we sometimes do for deer here in Michigan, but I saw in the GA regs yesterday that it is ILLEGAL to drive game.
