Just a note about Red Dog Farm Rd:
When you see the sign that says "pavement ends", pay it no mind, you are still on the right road...just slow down a tad and keep on going.
If it's muddy,slow down more.

River is about to flood. Still plenty of high ground and should move the pigs out to the hills.RC

Since, our little hunting lease is on red dog farm rd, and I have approached it, from Macon, every way I know of and this is the easiest/fastest for me.
Coming thru Macon, on I-75, get in the left lane and take I-16 where I-16 and I-75 split. You are pretty much heading Sou. East. Go to the Sgoda Rd. exit. Get off I-16 and turn right. Go a couple of miles, to the stop sign. Turn left... you are now on Hwy 23, 129alt, heading pretty much South towards Cochran. You will stay on this road until you reach Red Dog Farm Rd.
Fun Facts to know you are still going in the right direction:
1. You could have gotten on Hwy 23 (Ocmulgee East Blvd.) just outside of Macon, but going to Sgoda Rd cuts out some two lane traffic. You cross the Twiggs Co. line before reaching Sgoda Rd.
2. There is a Kaolin/Clay Co. sign across the road at the intersection of Sgoda Rd. and Hwy 23. Use to be Huber, don't recall what it is now.
3. After getting on Hwy 23 the next major intersection will be Hwy 96.
4. After crossing into Bleckley Co., Red Dog Farm Rd. is not very far and is on the right. There will be a red dog road sign, and a WMA sign. There is also a communications tower located at the turn off. (It will be the 2nd. tower after passing Hwy 96).
5. If you get to Cochran, turn around, you went too far.

Recap: I-75 to I-16, to Sgoda rd., exit, turn right, go to stop sign, turn left on to Hwy 23, go across Hwy96 intersection, cross into Bleckley Co., R. Dog Rd. a little ways down, on the right. Can't miss it.       :D

I'm have some fine tuning to do with my setup and I'm ready to go! The closer it gets the less I sleep. I can't wait! Bud B. and I will be traveling down on Wednesday. I'm packing my rhinehart block so we'll have something to practice on.

Guys/Gals,
It is with heavy heart that I must bow out of the hunt. My ever changing work schedule coupled with my increasing commitments at home will prevent my participation this year. I certainly wish the best of luck to all, and hope this turns into an annual event.

I also will have to bow out from this one. I have been looking forward to this all year and have been shooting my Howard Hill almost exclusively but injury is forcing me to make my decision. I hope you all have a great time and maybe I can join you all again sometime.
Sincerely,
Bic

Got my license, and the panic I felt when I looked at my calendar is gone. I thought I had gotten leave starting Friday, but I was smarter than that, and it starts Thursday.

I am so stupid sometimes!   :banghead:

Bicster, sorry about your hurting. Far Rider, I feel your pain. My responsibilities often sock me in the jaw when I am expecting fluffy pillow time.

I have a 4x4, but would like to take my car because of the gas difference. Can a car make it to the camp ground?

Thanks
