I'm a Zipper Daddy
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:17:00 AM »
I'm a big fan of Zipper bows. I got turned on to them when Bill introduced the Hunter version of his bows. I bought a Hunter S recently and I decided I wanted another pair of limbs, long story short I ended up also getting a riser a short time later. I don't think I could of come up with a better combination if I tried.
Riser is an SXT, Cocobolo/Wenge and Bacote stripes.
Limbs are Evolution limbs, Stained Curly Maple, and bamboo cores.
58" 54@28. On my scale I'm getting 54@27, using a simple hand scale so mine might be off, but still spot on as far as I am concerned. Brace Height set at 7 inches.
Arrows are 29.5" Easton Legacy 2117's 175grain tips, 5 inch feathers.
I was thinking I might be a little overspined but my Sweet Zip is handling them just fine. I love how a Zipper feels after the shot, right on target. Shot her at 15 yards and I'm extremely happy with the accuracy. Don't think I can do any better. Unless I want new arrows.

Do I really need to post pics ? You know it's going to look awesome right ?

Well Ok, enjoy !!!

The wedge wood is Zebrawood. I love that riser wood combo.

I saw that riser on the Zipper website...if Bill wasn't building me a bow that baby would have been long gone! It's a beauty, congrats!!!

Ha! Yup, I'll say that combo is a tough one to beat.  Zipper and curly maple just go hand in hand. That is a great lookin bow!

So...Longstick,

If you're going to set it out with the trash, please PM your address so I can do a midnight drive by, eh?   :jumper:

Ingenious targets and very pretty combo.  :D
