Big Jim Thunderchilds (more pics... page 2)
« on: February 11, 2012, 09:57:00 PM »
All I can say is WOW!  Amazingly smooth, plenty quick, and quiet...  The one I got today is a 56" 2-piece Macassar Ebony riser with Bocote veneers, overlays, and accents in the riser, at my 29" plus draw is amazing.  Coolest takedown system I've ever seen.  Didn't get to shoot it much (maybe 30 arrows), but with a few tweeks to the nock point and brace height I was clicking arrows together in short order.  Fit and finish is excellent.  You wouldn't guess this bow was as short as it is if you closed your eyes and just shot it.

I know I'm still in the honeymoon stage, but right now I'm sold on this bow, love it!  I've got another one in the mail to me that I got in a trade 56", and it is a 2-piece but Jim accidently glued it together when it was being made... so it's a non-functional 2-piece.  Also have another 2-piece on order from Jim too, in Black and White Ebony with Black Buff tips and overlays on the back (It's a little lighter, and will be natural camo for late season), ... I was looking for a shorter bow for certain situations, and flat out Love this bow!

When I was looking for a short bow Jim shipped a 54” TC out for me to try, needless to say I didn’t send it back.  :bigsmyl: ......stabow

Got the second one that I traded for in the mail today, few quick tweeks and stacking arrows just like the other one...  This one is Cocobolo and Osage riser, Cocobolo veneers on belly, layer of Carbon on the back with Rattlers covering it, Buff Horn tips and overlays on the back of the riser.  These things rock!  Thinking this second one might look better with Copperheads and a black grip...  If/when it needs a refinish, I think that is the way I'll go...
