the grip is very important to place your hand in the same place every time a wedge grip w the narrow prt on the belly side and the thumb overlaping the index about a quarter to 1/2 inch this would be on a strait grip w a slight dish or not .nate steen put that grip oon one of my hill bows for me .it had a locator grip i was not happy with.its a great grip for me it will be on all my hill style bows .

Craig's dished grips and indexed grips are quite mild compared to many other bows, and not much of a diversion from his straight grips. I've shot all the versions on a Hill, and after a few arrows, I almost have to look at the grip to determine which one I'm shooting. Now, a lot of other bows have much more pronounced index or dished grips, which folks fined preferable or not depending on their own shooting styles.  We're all different, of course. You may eventually find one style you like more than another.  Grip size is also important, but you've already got that base covered.

I think I tried every grip that can be put on  Hill bow, but seem to shoot best with a smaller straight grip than any of the others.

It doesn't matter much what feels good or shoots best for anyone else.

You and only you can make that determination for you.

I can shoot most of them and make them work but I do have my favorite.

But my favorite(s) won't do much for you.

Good luck!

I'm about 6'(allowing for 70 yrs. shrinkage) but have small hands. I think the circumference is important if you have smaller hands.

That being said I have a Tembo with a dished grip and it fits my hand very well. I bought it used from a friend so I don't know how it was ordered from Craig! I have a NM Shelton takedown that has a larger grip(circumference)and have talked with the Steve about changing it which is scheduled.

My other one piece Shelton (my first Shelton)was made with a straight grip using measurements of my bow hand and a photocopy on my left hand. It came out perfect. You might want to discuss that method with Craig!

I like both the straight and the dished grips. If you can, shoot bows with each grip type and decide based on what feels right for you.

The straight and the dished grips, will work for me. I prefer slightly dished and a thin grip.

I;ve built and shot dished and locator and find both to my liking.  Next build will be straight and wedged just cause I've not done it before.
